In 1909, Ahn Jung-geun, a resistance fighter opposed to Korea's subjugation by Japan, embarks on a perilous journey across the frozen Tumen River in an attempt to assassinate Itō Hirobumi, the Prime Minister of Japan and former Resident General of Korea. As he navigates treacherous alliances and rivalries within his own group, Ahn confronts the harsh realities of war and the true cost of independence.
