Ali and Nino

Ali and Nino is a 2016 drama romance war film based on Kurban Said's 1937 novel of the same name. The story follows Muslim prince Ali Khan Shirvanshir (Adam Bakri) and Georgian aristocrat Nino Kipiani (María Valverde), who fall in love amidst the outbreak of World War I and the struggle for Baku's oil. Their tragic fate is intertwined with the war, as they must choose between fighting for their country's independence or for each other.
