Straight out of Jersey comes Patricia Dombrowski, a.k.a. Killa P, a.k.a. Patti Cake$, an aspiring rapper fighting through a world of strip malls and strip clubs on an unlikely quest for glory. Born in New Jersey, Patti dreams of getting signed by Oz, a local rap star, but faces rejection and criticism along the way. With the help of her friends Jheri and Basterd, she finds an unlikely path to success, blending old-school hip-hop with modern-day determination. Ultimately, Patti's perseverance pays off as she takes the stage at a Newark competition, sharing her music and her story with the world.
