The Ballad of Wallis Island

Charles Heath (Tim Key), an eccentric widowed lottery winner, hosts his favorite folk musician Herb McGwyer (Tom Basden) and his former partner Nell Mortimer (Carey Mulligan) at his remote island home in Wales. Charles's efforts to reunite the duo for a private performance are met with tension, as Nell is struggling financially with her American husband Michael. As Herb tries to balance his desire for a musical comeback with his lingering feelings for Nell, he and Charles form an unexpected bond through music, ultimately leading to a poignant and uplifting conclusion.
