Desert Hearts

Desert Hearts tells the story of Vivian Bell, a 35-year-old English professor, as she travels to Reno, Nevada in 1959 to establish residency and await her divorce. There, she meets Cay Rivvers, a young and free-spirited sculptor who is ending a relationship with her controlling boss. As they grow closer, Frances Parker, the owner of the guest house ranch where Vivian stays, becomes resentful and hostile towards Cay, leading to a passionate and explicit lesbian love scene. The film follows the two women as they navigate their budding romance and confront the challenges of their pasts and the societal norms that surround them.
