Night Will Fall

The film explores the importance of film as a medium for documenting warfare, focusing on the work of the Allied cameramen who, in 1944 and 1945, filmed the liberation of Nazi concentration camps. The documentary includes archival footage gathered from the 1945 British film German Concentration Camps Factual Survey, recent interviews with survivors and liberators, and features producers, editors, and cameramen who worked on the original film. Sidney Bernstein was inspired to create this project after witnessing footage of the liberation of Bergen-Belsen concentration camp, which later served as evidence in the Nuremberg trials. The documentary also includes interviews with Alfred Hitchcock, Stewart McAllister, Richard Crossman, Branko Lustig, Anita Lasker-Wallfisch, and Eva Mozes Kor, among others.
