In this rare and charming entry in the singing cowboy genre, 26-year-old John Wayne stars as Singin' Sandy Saunders, a government agent sent to investigate a ruthless land swindle scheme in a drought-stricken Western town. There, he befriends Fay Denton (Cecilia Parker) and helps her family outsmart their evil oppressor, James Kincaid (Forrest Taylor), who controls the local water supply and extorts high rates from ranchers. With action, romance, humor, and plenty of cowboy charm, Riders of Destiny establishes Wayne as a B-Western cowboy and showcases his unique blend of ruggedness and good looks.
