The Burden

In a bold and biting satire, "The Burden" brings to life an apocalyptic musical in a shopping center along a highway, where the employees find liberation in the face of catastrophe through choreographed dance numbers set to auto-tuned music by Klungan. This visually striking short film tells a story of existential anxiety and boredom, using stop motion animation to great effect. Directed by Niki Lindroth von Bahr, "The Burden" won several prestigious awards at major film festivals, including The Annecy Cristal and the Toronto International Film Festival.
