Mortal Kombat: The Journey Begins

"Mortal Kombat: The Journey Begins" is a lackluster animated prequel that fails to capture the essence of the iconic video game franchise. Based on the titular fighting game, this 1995 film follows Liu Kang, Sonya Blade, and Johnny Cage as they embark on a perilous journey to defeat Shang Tsung, Sub Zero, Scorpion, and Goro in a tournament of Mortal Kombat. Rayden teaches them valuable lessons about mastering their destinies and overcoming their foes, but the film's poorly executed 3D CGI sequences and one-dimensional character designs make it a disappointing watch.
