The Summer Book

The Summer Book is a 2024 drama film about Sophia, an eight-year-old girl growing up fast, and her grandmother, who is nearing the end of her life, spending time together with Sophia's father at their family summer house on a tiny unspoiled island in the Gulf of Finland. As they come to terms with the recent death of Sophia's mother, the three are grappling with grief and finding ways to heal. Glenn Close stars as the grandmother, alongside Emily Matthews as Sophia, Anders Danielsen Lie as Sophia's father, and Pekka Strang as Mr. Malander.
