Rose and her daughter Sofia travel to Spain's Almería to consult Dr. Gomez, a physician who may hold the cure for Rose's mysterious illness, which has left her bound to a wheelchair since she was 26. As they settle into the sultry town, Sofia begins to shed her inhibitions, enticed by Ingrid's charms. Characterized by its nuanced portrayal of mother-daughter relationships and coming-of-age themes, "Hot Milk" is a powerful exploration of female identity and empowerment, anchored by standout performances from Fiona Shaw and Emma Mackey.
