Demetri Martin stars as Dean, a NY illustrator who falls hard for an LA woman named Nicky (Gillian Jacobs) while trying to prevent his father Robert (Kevin Kline), from selling their family home after his mother's death. Dean's best friend Eric comes from Los Angeles to support him and introduces him to Nicky at a party. As they navigate their feelings for each other, Dean must come to terms with his grief and reconcile with his estranged father.
