Say God Bye

"Say God Bye" is a poignant documentary that follows Thomas Imbach's journey as he embarks on a pilgrimage to meet his idol, film legend Jean-Luc Godard, in the days leading up to Godard's passing in 2021. A teenager once rejected by Godard, Imbach has spent a lifetime chasing his dream of working alongside the master filmmaker, and now he must summon the courage to express his lifelong gratitude. With only an Aaton camera for company, Imbach traverses the Swiss countryside on foot, driven by both anxiety and devotion as he draws closer to his goal. This is a story of obsession and love, as Imbach finally finds the strength to tell Godard face-to-face that he thanks him for everything.
