Red Sonja

A young girl rises from the ashes of tragedy to become the most feared warrior woman of all time: the She-Devil with a Sword. Red Sonja, an unpolished sword and sorcery romp, follows the adventures of the nomad barbarian Sonja as she unites a group of unlikely warriors to face off against Draygan and his deadly consort Annisia. With a predictable and underwhelming story, cardboard cutout characterizations, and hastily assembled fight scenes, this 2025 version of Red Sonja fails to live up to its comic book roots. Despite some notable performances, particularly from the female leads, this film is mostly "good enough" for fans of the sword and sorcery genre, but falls short of being a truly memorable or impactful cinematic experience.
