Closing the Ring

In 1991 in rural Michigan, Marie Harris delivers a eulogy at her father's funeral, where she confronts her mother Ethel Ann about their family's past and her love life. A young Ethel was in love with Teddy Gordon, who built a house with his friends Jack and Chuck after accepting her gold ring; the three flew out to fight in World War II. Years later, Jimmy Riley finds a ring in the wreckage of a crashed B-17 aircraft and sets out to return it to the woman from the inscription, leading him to Ethel Ann. As Ethel reunites with the soldier who last saw Teddy alive, her long-held grief and love for him are finally acknowledged by Jack Etty, who has always loved her.
