I Was a Mail Order Bride

On a bet with his business partner, Robert Fitzgerald is a Los Angeles lawyer who responds to an ad from Chicago magazine writer Kate Tosconi as a bridal candidate for investigative reporting. Kate, eager to do an article on trains, reluctantly agrees to the arrangement, and they start a romance that's put to the test when Robert reveals he was trying to lose his bet - but Kate refuses to believe it. As their relationship deepens, Kate writes a libelous article about Robert, leading him to sue her, but ultimately they confess their love for each other in court.
