The Red Turtle

This enchanting, dialogue-free film tells the story of a man who becomes shipwrecked on an uninhabited island, only to find himself repeatedly thwarted in his attempts at escape by a red turtle. As he builds and destroys rafts, he begins to hallucinate and sees a woman, whom he falls deeply in love with. The couple's life together is filled with moments of pure, undefiled love, but ultimately ends in tragedy as the man passes away, transformed back into the turtle that had brought him to the island.
