In 1933 France, Christine's life as a maid for the well-to-do widow Madame Danzard and her teenage daughter Isabelle takes a dark turn when her younger sister Lea is hired. As the sisters become increasingly isolated from their employer, they form an intense bond that blurs the lines of sibling loyalty and lesbian desire.
