A Question of Silence

"A Question of Silence" is a 1982 Dutch drama film written and directed by Marleen Gorris in her debut. The plot revolves around three women who kill a man they do not know after he approaches one of them in a dress boutique for shoplifting. Female criminal psychiatrist Janine van den Bos (Cox Habbema) is appointed to understand the motivations behind their actions, and through her investigation, she comes to realize that the women were fed up with the strain of living in a patriarchy.
