Hippo

Hippo is a 2023 American black comedy-drama film that follows Hippo and his Hungarian step-sister Buttercup as they struggle to come of age in late 1990s America under their mother's roof, who has been institutionalized at least once. The film is shot during the COVID-19 pandemic at the director's grandmother's house in State College, Pennsylvania. Kimball Farley stars as Hippo, while Lilla Kizlinger plays his Hungarian step-sister Buttercup.
