Margot Robbie stars as Tonya Harding, a competitive ice skater who rises through the ranks at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships, but her future in the sport is threatened when her ex-husband Jeff (Sebastian Stan) intervenes, forcing Tonya to confront her abusive mother LaVona (Allison Janney), who has been emotionally and physically abusive since childhood.
