Colm Meaney plays Fred Daly, a middle-aged man who returns to Ireland and forms an unlikely friendship with Colin Morgan's Cathal O'Regan, a 21-year-old homeless drug addict. As they navigate their lives together, Cathal encourages Fred to take action, including meeting Milka Ahlroth's Juliana, a music teacher who becomes a source of attraction for Fred. However, when Cathal's drug habit threatens his well-being, their bond is tested, ultimately leading to Cathal's tragic fate.
