When their beloved dog Merv loses his spark after their split, Teacher Russ and optometrist Anna are forced into the world's most awkward co-parenting arrangement. Zooey Deschanel plays Anna Finch, who takes a surprise trip to Florida with Russ (Charlie Cox) in an attempt to revive Merv's mood. As they navigate their complicated past and confront their feelings for each other, the three are invited to a party where old sparks fly - literally. Along the way, they discover that fixing not just Merv's heart, but their own brokenness, may be the key to rekindling their love.
