When a charming house guest arrives at a remote castle, the delicate dynamic between a neglectful husband, his innocent bride Cherry (Maika Monroe) and their devoted maid Hero (Emma Corrin), is thrown into chaos. As rules imposed by the god Kiddo's father, Birdman, require married couples to produce an heir, Jerome's marriage to Cherry becomes increasingly strained. Her seductive friend Manfred (Nicholas Galitzine) attempts to win her affection, but Cherry forms a secret bond with Hero, who reveals herself as a writer and storyteller, influencing Cherry's understanding of life. As tensions build, Jerome returns, and the couple's fate hangs in the balance, leading to a transformative trial that changes the lives of those involved forever.
