The Moogai

A chilling Australian horror film, "The Moogai" is a deeply unsettling tale of motherhood, racism, and transgenerational trauma, set against the dark backdrop of the Stolen Generations. Based on Jon Bell's 2020 short film of the same name, this feature follows a young Aboriginal couple whose joyous arrival of their second baby is marred by the mother's desperate conviction that a malevolent spirit - known as "Moogai", or bad spirit in Bundjalung language - is threatening her child.
