Based on her early teen years in poverty in Butcher Hollow, Kentucky and her rise as one of the most influential country musicians, "Coal Miner's Daughter" is a biographical musical drama that follows Loretta Lynn from her early life to stardom, with Sissy Spacek starring as Lynn. The film chronicles her journey from singing at local honky-tonks in Washington State to becoming a Grammy-winning artist, including her close friendship with country legend Patsy Cline and her struggles with fame and family.
