Brother Future

A young street rapper from Detroit is hit by a car and transported back in time to the pre-Civil War South, where he finds himself at a slave auction, working on a plantation alongside slaves led by Carl Lumbly's character Denmark Vessy, under the strict rule of Mr. Cooper. Phill Lewis as T.J., helps his fellow slaves with their chores, learns to read and write from Josiah (Michael Burgess), and becomes embroiled in plans for rebellion led by Denmark Vesey. After a series of events, TJ is eventually returned to his own time, where he reflects on the lessons he learned during his time as a slave.
