Preacherman

In this 1971 American comedy film, a self-proclaimed backwoods preacher, Amos T. Huxley, poses as a country minister to swindle a local landowner's daughter and profit from an illicit moonshine operation in small-town North Carolina. As he weaves a web of deceit, Huxley becomes embroiled with the town's farmer, Judd Crabtree, his innocent daughter Mary Lou, and a rival moonshiner's jealous ex-boyfriend, who ultimately leads to Huxley's narrow escape from the law. This exploitation comedy, starring Albert T. Viola, was initially released in Southern theaters and went on to gross over $5 million, spawning a sequel, before being distributed widely on home video by Troma Entertainment.
