Riders of the Whistling Pines

In this 1949 drama western, Gene Autry plays a singing cowboy who becomes entangled in a complex plot involving timber barons and a devastating forest infestation. After being framed for a cattle-poisoning charge, Gene sets out to clear his name and works with the Forest Department to combat the tussock moth infestation that threatens the great woods. Along the way, he discovers a sinister plot to stop aerial spraying of DDT and joins forces with a young woman named Helen, who helps him bring the true culprits to justice in a thrilling showdown.
