Simon Russell Beale plays King Lear in this drama film adaptation of Shakespeare's tragedy, with a focus on the king's decision to divide his kingdom among his three daughters. The story centers around Lear's interactions with his daughters, particularly Cordelia (Olivia Vinall), who disappoints him by not praising him as lavishly as her sisters Goneril (Anna Maxwell Martin) and Regan (also Anna Maxwell Martin).
