Yagyu Clan Conspiracy

In 1624, after the sudden death of Tokugawa Hidetada, his food taster kills himself, leading to suspicion of poisoning. Yagyu Tajima, Iemitsu's fencing instructor, determines that Hidetada was poisoned and confronts Kasuga and Matsudaira, who admit to the crime. As a result, Yagyu summons his son Jubei, who has lived with the Negoro clan, and they join forces to help Hayate and Mon regain their lost Yamato Province lands. Along the way, Jubei's brother-in-law Genshinsai becomes a nemesis, vowing to kill Yagyu, while Yagyu himself betrays everyone, even his own family, in pursuit of securing Iemitsu the shogunate.
