A 16-year-old girl named Naho Takamiya (Tao Tsuchiya) starts receiving mysterious letters from her future self, warning her of a "biggest regret" in her life. The letters predict events that will happen ten years later, including the arrival of Kakeru Naruse (Kento Yamazaki), a transfer student who becomes Naho's friend. Through the letters, Naho tries to alter the course of events to prevent a tragic outcome, with the help of her friends and Kakeru. Ultimately, a series of small actions lead to Kakeru avoiding a suicidal attempt, and the film ends with a heartwarming conclusion where the characters come together in both 2015 and a parallel universe where Kakeru is alive.
