The President's Cake

The film follows 9-year-old Lamia (Baneen Ahmad Nayyef) as she's chosen to bake a cake for Saddam Hussein's birthday in rural Iraq during the Gulf War. With international sanctions making ingredients scarce, Lamia and her neighbor Saeed embark on a series of perilous journeys to gather the necessary materials, all while navigating the apathetic police force and facing personal losses along the way.
