The Grasshopper and the Ants

In this charming animated short film, Pinto Colvig brings Hop the Grasshopper to life as he lazily plays his fiddle and dances through the seasons, living in the moment. Meanwhile, Dorothy Compton's Ant Queen diligently works to store food for winter, warning Hop of the trouble that awaits him when the cold sets in. When Hop stumbles upon the ants' cozy tree, they take him in, but only allow him to stay if he plays for them, forcing him to acknowledge his own worth.
