In a heart-wrenching drama, Brenda Blethyn stars as Elsie, a neglected pensioner clinging to her independence in her bungalow, until she finds an unexpected ally in her younger neighbour Andrea Riseborough's Colleen, who sets in motion a gradually evolving friendship that brings shocking consequences. As their bond grows, tensions rise with Elsie's resentful son, leading to tragic outcomes. With its unassuming yet cautionary tone, "Dragonfly" is a compassionate and thrilling exploration of human connection, identity, and the devastating effects of neglect.
