Town on Trial

When an attractive young girl is murdered, suspicion falls on several members of the local tennis club. Police Inspector Halloran investigates and sorts out red herrings to finally arrest the culprit in a confrontation at the top of the church spire. Barbara Bates plays Elizabeth Fenner, Dr. John Fenner's niece and a Canadian expat who tries to protect her uncle's reputation as she becomes entangled in the web of deceit surrounding the club.
