Nie Xiaoqian

"Nie Xiaoqian," an animated fantasy romance film, is based on the short story "Lao Li" from novelist Pu Songling's collection "Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio." The movie follows Nie Xiaoqian, voiced by Zhang Huilin, as she turns into a ghost after being betrayed and imprisoned in Lanruo Temple. She is accidentally freed by Ning Sheng, voiced by Jiang Bian, who has come to take the examination in Capital.
