Pensavo fosse amore... invece era un calesse

Tommaso (Massimo Troisi), a young man engaged to Cecilia (Francesca Neri), is convinced that she will be his true love, but her excessive jealousy threatens their relationship. He enlists the help of a mysterious stranger, Enea (Marco Messeri), and even turns to white magic for assistance. Meanwhile, Amedeo (Angelo Orlando), Tommaso's friend and owner of a nearby bookshop, becomes involved with Flora (Natalia Bizzi), who harbors feelings for another friend, Giorgio. As the story unfolds, a series of comedic mishaps ensues, including an attempt to poison Chiara, Amedeo's sister, who pines for Tommaso.
