This lavish 1970 remake of William Shakespeare's classic play presents the assassination of Julius Caesar on the Ides of March and the resulting war between Mark Antony's faction and Brutus' group. Charlton Heston delivers a strong performance as Mark Anthony, while Sir John Gielgud shines as the titular Caesar. The all-star cast brings the Bard's lines to life with varying degrees of conviction, but the film's problems are evident from its sluggish pacing and poor production values.
