Four adolescent girls each spend their youth in the same farmhouse over the last century, their lives intertwined by threads of desire, distress, secrets, and truths. Set on a rural farm in 1910s Germany, 1940s wartime Britain, 1980s East Germany, and 2020s contemporary Germany, the film explores the intergenerational trauma that haunts these women as they navigate love, loss, and survival. Through a non-linear narrative, Sound of Falling weaves together four distinct stories, revealing how gestures, conversations, and situations recur over time, creating an emotional resonance that echoes across decades.
