The Fortune Cookie

In this biting black comedy, Jack Lemmon plays Harry Hinkle, a TV cameraman injured while filming a football game, who conspires with his unscrupulous brother-in-law Willie (Walter Matthau) to fabricate a paralyzed leg and hand in exchange for a $1 million settlement. As the insurance company's lawyers dig deeper, Harry's ex-wife Sandy reappears, threatening to expose the scheme, while the Cleveland Browns' star player Boom-Boom Jackson becomes embroiled in the scam. In the end, truth and honesty are revealed, but not before a series of hilarious and action-packed twists.
