In this poignant romantic drama, Clark Gable stars as Harry Patterson, a rough-around-the-edges sailor who finds love in unexpected places. After being rescued from a Japanese submarine attack, Harry meets Greer Garson's straight-laced librarian Emily Sears, and their unlikely romance blossoms despite his initial antics and her attempts to rein him in.
