Marama

In "Marama", a young Māori woman's journey from New Zealand to Yorkshire, England uncovers her family's dark colonial past and confronts the titled Englishman responsible for devastating her ancestors. When orphan Mary Stevens arrives at Hawkser Manor, she is met with eerie hospitality by Nathanial Cole, who offers her a position as governess for his granddaughter Ann - but the house seems to hold secrets that threaten to destroy her.
