Kansas

Wade Corey (Andrew McCarthy) is on his way to a friend's wedding when he gets stranded in Utah and hops a freight train where Doyle Kennedy (Matt Dillon), a drifter who turns out to be a violent bank robber, convinces him to accompany him to Kansas. At the local festival, Doyle holds up the bank, knocking out the police watchman and tying up the bank attendant, and before Wade knows what's happening, there's a gun in his face. As they try to get away, Wade saves the governor's daughter from drowning after the car hits her family's vehicle in a river, but he also has to hide from Doyle, who continues to pursue him across the countryside.
