In a gripping rehashing of classic themes, "Carolina Caroline" follows the tumultuous journey of a young woman desperate to escape her small town, and the charming con artist who joins her on a crime-filled escapade through the Southeast in search of her estranged mother. The film's exploration of love, loyalty, and survival is tempered by its visceral thrills, as our heroine navigates a treacherous landscape of deception and danger. With its lush Southern Gothic atmosphere and incendiary performances from Samara Weaving and Kyle Gallner, this romantic thriller injects fresh life into the familiar genre.
