The Icebreaker is a 2016 Russian disaster film directed by Nikolay Khomeriki, based on the real events of 1985 where the icebreaker Mikhail Somov was trapped by Antarctic ice and spent 133 days in forced drift. The story follows the crew of the "Mikhail Somov" as they navigate through severe weather conditions, dealing with internal conflicts and the harsh reality of being stranded in the icy wilderness. Characterized by the leadership of Captain Petrov (Pyotr Fyodorov) and the arrival of a new captain, Valentin Sevchenko (Sergey Puskepalis), who brings an uncompromising and domineering power to the ship.
