After the end of Apartheid, Archbishop Desmond Tutu meets with a brutal murderer seeking redemption in this gripping drama. The film is based on Michael Ashton's play about Tutu's search for answers during the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and his meetings with Piet Blomfeld, an ex-security police officer who was involved in apartheid-era murders. As Blomfeld begins to reconsider his past actions, he forms a bond with a prisoner and ultimately decides to confess, leading to a tragic confrontation that changes him forever. The movie ends on a hopeful note, with the Archbishop visiting the beach where he once played as a child, now successfully integrated.
