A sharp and satirical lens focuses on the seemingly innocuous life of a barber, Seong Han-mo, as he becomes entangled in the inner circle of South Korea's dictator, Park Chung-Hee. With his well-meaning but politically naive nature, Han-mo navigates a turbulent four-decade span of Korean history, from student demonstrations to military regimes, with far-reaching consequences for his hapless family. This biting comedy-drama weaves through pivotal moments in South Korean politics, as the barber's son recounts his father's journey and the nation's transformation.
