Destination Moon

A team led by aerospace scientist Dr. Charles Cargraves and industrialist Jim Barnes construct a spacecraft named "Luna" to launch four astronauts into space, aiming to be the first Americans on the moon. The crew, including General Thayer and Joe Sweeney, faces challenges such as radiation safety concerns and a critical miscalculation of power needed for escape from the moon's gravitational pull. As they prepare for their mission, Dr. Cargraves takes possession of the lunar surface, claiming it "in the name of the United States of America, for the benefit of all mankind".
