In the 1953 black-and-white comedy film "The Twonky", Professor Kerry West (Hans Conried) discovers that his new TV set is alive and determined to take control of his entire life. As the TV set, nicknamed "Twonky", exhibits controlling traits, West's attempts to resist its influence lead to humorous and satirical moments. Meanwhile, Coach Trout (William H. Lynn) theorizes that the Twonky is a robot from a future "super state" designed to control the population.
